A Personalized Contact Lens Examination at Regional Eye Center

If you wear or want contacts, you need a contact lens exam in addition to a comprehensive eye exam. We will perform special tests during a contact lens exam to evaluate your vision with contacts. The first test will measure your eye surface to determine what size and type of contacts are best for you. We also do a tear film evaluation to make sure you have enough tears to comfortably wear contacts.

With the results of those tests, we can provide a contact lens prescription that is the right fit for your eyes. An eyeglass prescription is no substitute for a contact lens exam because the two are very different.

Fitting lenses to your lifestyle
We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs and the shape and health of your eyes. In most cases, you’ll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. Almost every patient will be given trial lenses to take home on the day of the contact lens fitting.

Follow up fittings
Our team will follow up after the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible result. We teach all our patients proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.

  • Bifocal and Multifocal Contact Lenses Thumbnail
If you need correction for presbyopia but dislike the idea of bifocal eyeglasses, you have many contact lens options.
  • Toric Contact Lenses Thumbnail
“I can’t wear soft contacts; I have astigmatism.” This once-true statement is now simply a myth.
  • Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses Thumbnail
Silicone hydrogel contact lenses are state of the art soft contact lenses that allow more oxygen, sometimes as much as 5 times that of regular soft contacts, to pass through the contact to the cornea.
  • Daily Disposable Contact Lensess Thumbnail
The fastest growing mode of wearing contact lenses in the world is daily disposable soft contacts, which are also now available in toric and multi-focal versions. These contacts are worn for 1 day and then disposed.
  • Close Up Male Eye Hero 1.jpg
Patients with keratoconus, high astigmatism, or irregular corneas can benefit from wearing scleral contact lenses.
  • Gas Permeable Contact Lenses Thumbnail
These rigid lenses aren’t as popular or well-known as soft lenses, but they offer the advantages of durability, crisp vision and high oxygen permeability.
  • Hard to Fit Patient Thumbnail
Challenges such as astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus and dry eyes needn’t be a barrier to contact lens wear, but they do require more time and patience.
